Our popular Saturday Puppy Social Morning, which is open to fully vaccinated puppies up to and including 6 months of age, is held every second Saturday. This is an indoor event so not effected by adverse weather.

Your puppy will get an opportunity to meet and play with other pups in a safe, controlled and supervised way. They can play off lead and get a chance to meet not just other puppies, but different people.

We like the owners to stay to watch and chat with others that are there, sharing difficulties and successes they have experienced. This is a fun event and all in the family are welcome to come.

While the pups are playing we will work with the shyer ones and show you techniques that calm and reassure. As an experienced dog trainer I will be available to answer questions around your puppies behaviour but most of all it is an opportunity for your pup to learn how to socialise.

If you need more information don't hesitate to call us on 089 404 9322

Looking forward to meeting all the puppies.

Loose Lead Walking Class

When; Date to be announced

Where; Kerlogue Business Park

Time; 19.00 to 20.00

Cost; €25.00 per class (€50.00 in total)

Loose Lead walking is one of the essential behaviours that you and your dog need to know.

When mastered it can transform your dog walks from being a tedious chore to being a pleasure. No more being towed along behind your dog as he/she drags you wherever they want to go. No more returning from a walk with muscles strained and the dog coughing from the neck strain.

Over the two nights we will explore the reasons why a dog will pull on it's lead. We will work on impulse control and name recognition and build from there into exercises that start to change the dogs behaviour. The techniques required will be explained in detail and practiced until fully understood.

Walking your dog will change. For a period of time when you take your dog out it will be for training. Your dog needs to practice and to learn new instructions from you and together you will develope an understanding that will lead to Loose Lead Walking.

On the second evening we will be ironing out difficulties experienced and then introducing the concept of distraction. What do we do when other dogs appear, or how do we handle when something startles or frightens our dogs. Practical excercises will help with the learning.

As with all Good Dog Training only positive re-enforcement techniques will be used.

We would like all dogs to wear a standard collar and a standard lead, to be used during the training.

To book or for more detail, phone us on 089 404 9322 or message us through the Facebook page, Good Dog Training

There are 6 places available so book early.

One to One Dog Training

A wonderful way to deal with unwanted behaviours in your dog is through One to One training sessions.

This training is usually done in our centre in Kerlogue Business Park but it can also be done in the dogs home.

With you and your dog you will learn the techniques that will get your dog to walk on a lead, to come back when called or whatever behaviour is causing difficulty.

One to Ones are ideal for dogs that are reactive to other dogs, or dogs that are having a difficulty not usually dealt with in classes. You will learn what motivates a dog to change and hopefully you will go on to enjoy your training sessions as you see the improvements occurring.

If you would like more information on one to one training, call me Philip on either 0876141297 or 0894049322 and I will be happy to chat to you about whatever is troubling you and your dog.

As with all Good Dog Training only positive re-enforcement techniques are used.
